What's In Your Soul?
While Eating Dinner Together One Evening
"Hey Michael can you sing your song for mommy?" Daddy asked him while we were all gathered at the dinner table.
"Why?" He asked, dragging out the "Y" sound so what he really said was "Whyyyyyy?"
"Because I think Mommy will love your song." Daddy said trying to nudge him to sing by using an over dramatic tone.
"But I can't!" He said looking shy and distressed.
"Why not?" Daddy implored growing a tad impatient.
"'Cause every one will see it!" He said hiding his face in his hands.
"What if we all close our eyes?" Mommy suggested. "Then no one can see."
"Ok..." He agreed reluctantly.
Everyone proceeded to cover their eyes and turn their heads away. "What about now?" Mommy asked.
He began to hum a few bars very quietly then suddenly, "NO! I can still see Hannah and Emily!" He cried, disturbed by their lack of respect of his privacy.
"Ok, ok how about you cover your eyes like this." Mommy suggested further, showing him how to cover his eyes with both his hands. "Better?" She inquired.
"Ok. Now I can sing." He began to hum quietly and slowly the words grew more and more distinct.
"I've got Starbucks and some chocolate. I've got Starbucks and some Starbucks. I've got Starbucks and some chocolate in my soul!" He sang out the last line triumphantly to a round of applause.
"COVER YOUR EYES!"

Sweet Cheeks
While Walking To Our Campsite In Yosemite
Michael, Daddy and I were walking back to our tent after a long bus ride around the park when Michael seemed too tired to keep walking.
"Daddy," he said "Can I please hold your hand?" He asked looking rather pathetic and exhausted.
"I can't hold your hand buddy. I'm carrying all these bags. How about you hold Ashley's hand." He suggested as an alternative.
I offered him my hand which he gladly took.
"Thanks for holding my hand sweet cheeks." he said and we trudged on.

Michael - 3 Years Old |
While Walking To The Car After Dinner
Michael held Dad's hand and skipped to the car. As they drew closer he stopped.
"Daddy?" he said, getting his attention.
"Yes son?" Dad replied leaning down.
"Can I drive?" He inquired.
"Not this time buddy." Dad answered.
"Ok... Maybe next time." He said, still hopeful.
"Maybe." Dad assured.
And with that they continued on to the car.

Ride Em' Son!
While I was babysitting Michael
I had been in my room doing homework for a while and decided I'd better check on Michael and make sure he wasn't into anything he shouldn't be.
"Michael? Where are you buddy?" I called out.
"RIDE EM' COWBOY!" he responded.
"What? What are you doing out there?" I called getting closer to his voice.
"RIDE EM' COWBOY!" He called back.
"What's that sound bud?"
"RIDE EM' COWBOY!" He said once more.
As I rounded the corner, the living room came into sight. There was Michael in the center of it. He had a pair of
"RIDE EM' COWBOY! RIDE EM' SON! WA-HOO!!!"
I'm about 85% sure my brother is mentally handicapped

GUEST POST!
JACO CHEEKS - By Karly Jaco
While Fellowshipping At The Back Of The Church One Evening
Ashley Silvey, yes, THE Ashley Silvey of A Silvey Family Tale, sat talking with her mother (Stacy), her sister Sarah and I, one evening after Church.
Stacy, of course had to get her Ava loves, so she took Ava from Ashley and invited Michael over to talk to Ava, as she was doing.
Michael was overjoyed to have the chance to talk to Ava, up close no less! He was totally wrapped up in talking to her, and staring into her face, "Hiii Ava, Hiiii Ava..." he cooed with a big grin from ear to ear. We all smiled and watched as Michael's love for Ava radiated from his being.
Suddenly, he paused... an ever-so-serious look on his face, and looked up at his momma. "Mommy." he said, "Why is her face too big??"
We all immediately cracked up, and Sarah commented, "This will be a good one for the blog" We all agreed, and joked about how Sarah's line would give her a co-starring role in this blog tale. (Yay, Sarah...that's two now!)
And that is the story of how Michael discovered, that "Silvey cheeks" can also come on a Jaco.

Hey guys! It's me again! I hope you all enjoyed the guest post! This was written by a very dear friend of mine. Well, she's more of a big sister and role model.
Back in the day, before she was a mummy and I was in high school, we both considered ourselves aspiring authors. Now that we are very immersed in life and had to step away from bigger projects like novels and children's stories, we both stumbled into blogging. What's cool is that we both got into it around the same time and with no influence from each other! Karly's Blog, The Up Look, is a truly inspiring read.
She tells her life story as wife to a preacher
Mother of three
And daughter of Christ
Her life is a living display of patience and faith. Please check her out and give her some love in the comments below and by following her blog! Check it out here!

Where The Wind Comes From
While In The Car On Our Way To Lunch
![]() |
Behold, The Master Of The Sky's |
The kids were singing a song that referenced the wind when Hannah decided to ask a question. Whether she just wanted to test how smart Daddy is or if she really wanted to know it is uncertain, in any case it was not Daddy who gave an answer.
"Hold on guys, stop singing for a second. Daddy, where does the wind come from?" She asked with a look of both confusion and a certain amount of smugness. She seemed to believe this was a good and philosophical question.
"Well, the wind comes-" Daddy began.
"FROM ME! I AM THE MASTER OF THE SKY'S!" Micheal declared.
Well that pretty much answers that question.
